The 411 for virgin waxers
So you’ve just booked your first body waxing appointment, what next?
If you have just recently shaved, reschedule! To ensure all your hair is removed during the service please, please grow your hair out for a minimum of 2 weeks! This will ensure the wax can grip the hair well enough to effectively remove it with little to no tweezing.
Gently exfoliate 24-48 hours before your scheduled service with a body scrub or dry brush. Exfoliating your skin removes the dead outer layers and lifts the hairs away from the skin helping to avoid ingrown hairs and breakage during your wax.
If you’re concerned about the pain level of your wax you’ll want to avoid stimulants such as caffeine or alcohol a few hours before your wax. You’re welcome to apply an over the counter numbing solution 15 minutes prior. Please also avoid coating your skin with body lotions/creams or oils the day of your wax as the wax may not adhere to the hair.
Relaxxx, this is a judgement-free zone! Everybody is welcome and every BODY! Your anticipation is going to be much worse than the experience itself, I promise!!

After your wax you’ll want to treat your newly smooth skin as if you’ve just spent a day at the beach w/o sunscreen, eek! Sweating, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, tanning beds, activities that cause friction, and exfoliation should be avoided for 48 hours.
If you’ve fallen in love with the results of your wax (and I’m sure you have!) then don’t shave between your appointments. Shaving between appointments could cause you to throw off your growth patterns which can make it harder to remove all your unwanted hair. To avoid ingrown hairs be sure to exfoliate a couple of times per week. Removing the hair by the root will cause the hair to become finer and therefore have a harder time poking through the skin, thus creating potential ingrown hairs.
As with any service, reactions are possible. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. After wax products are available for purchase here.
